I know Christmas has come and gone and many a festive activity has happened in between but I had to share this. Christmas day was delightfully hectic and jam packed with all the loveliest bits of Christmas. The first pic is the amazing gourmet banquet we devoured at the first port of call for the day and the second pic is how we ended the night at our fourth port. With the best family, fun and laughs inbetween. only 350ish days to go? Happy new years eve, I hope 2011 is as fabulous as 2010 was, I am extra excited for all the things I have instore for Frankie Sunshine in the new year x

Room With a View

I never realise how lucky I am until I take a moment to sit on the balcony and watch the sunset. Cider in one hand, Iphone camera in the other. What a view. Living by the ocean has to be one of the best life choices! Really bored and cant find anything to do? Sit on the balcony for at least 5 minutes and watch the surf. Make this the daily ritual.  So if your not a reader you must be a muso? Tunes in ears, on with the sunnies. Even better bring the friends round for an arvo balcony sesh. They wont say it but they are really jealous of the view. So there’s nothing boring about a view.  If boredom still kicks in there’s always an abundance of half naked boys on boards that are quite clearly visible from my room with a view ;)

Hay everyone it's Xmas silly season right! Go nuts already !! Has to be the busiest, hectic, craziest time of the year. I go almost a whole year of being a boring old fart and hiding under the covers all winter to emerge a social crazy mental butterfly let loose. I know right, watch out! Xmas parties, birthday parties, BBQ parties and any excuse to have a party is summer. So in love with summer. Depraved all year and finally I'm allowed out. With full force. This is definitely the time of year where all the loony and bad photos are taken of me. People’s please stop tagging those photos. Whether in costume or not I still go nuts. So cracker hats on lets go crazy!!!!!

Datto

 An elite and interesting group of people find it really cool and fun to purchase a beaten up old car and restore to its full glory. The Datsun crew. I do agree these crazy and somewhat dangerous cars do shine up to be something amazing. These elite people are so passionate and full of pride in their cars they name them, worship them! After a hoon around with 46 other fully restored Datsun’s I had to agree ! The attention these babies get also from the really old grandparents reminiscing the days to the young wannabee enthusiasts is crazy. 

One road trip, 46 Datsuns, a bunch of crazy car fanatics ? I have now been inducted into the Datto club.

stairway to ...

Continuing on with the Susie homemaker theme, I mentioned in an earlier post that I had a story about my staircase and here it is. These babies when we first bought our house were painted white with carpet stoops and were looking very sorry for themselves.
I poured three whole months of solid weekends, sanding these guys back covered in old paint and a dust mask expelling every bit of elbow grease given to me to reveal their true beauty and now I gaze at them with love in my heart and with polish on my nails again.

FIXIE

Brrrrrrrnnnnng Brrrrrrrnggggggggg !! The Fixie! Bought a hunk of junk. Unwanted. Unloved. However underneath the tacky Coles basket and taped dynamo lies a classic vintage chrome beauty. Pride & Joy. Ozzie icon The Malvern Star. The Fixie called “Isabella”  (Yes that was necessary) Stripped back to her bare naked self the way nature intended. Gears on a fixie? Pfffft who would do such a thing. The past criminal owner installed gears on her. Criminal ! A Fixie is called that for a reason ! So no gears, white wall tyres and back pedal brakes later here she shines. Yeah had to install the really annoying get of my way bell.  So she cant be ridden up hills or any slight incline for that matter. She cant be ridden down hill coz I ended up forcing us into a construction fence to stop. (No pride hurt no one was around). Whats the point you say? Its all the point! shes hot, vintage and guaranteed to always be my drunken ride home.
