vest is best

Quick little outfit post from Friday's wedding. It was a fabulous day and I will tell you more about it tomorrow. I wore Finders Keepers black 'Love Actually dress' available here (PS just put this one on sale! yay) which has such an awesome keyhole cut out & zipper up the back but seeing as though it was unseasonly cold I wore my Frankie Sunshine 'Evie the Greatest' vest which is so cool with its tails, length, looseness and shoulder pads, you can get one of a very limited supply from here, clutch by Mimco, ring YSL & shoes bought in a designer sale in Hong Kong, they are all wooden heeled and black patent leather goodness.
Warry (Mr Movember) wore the jacket he designed and had made while we were overseas last and we boogied the night away.

The Coffee Bean Stalk

Coffee. The 3rd largest commodity in the world. Probably one of the only rituals that stands strong. My morning coffee ! Without fail. Without this amazing substance from nature my life would literally be in tatters! Coffee is the glue that holds it all together in more ways than one! Coffee actually is an excuse to bring all my friends together. Without it it's possible these friendships would become unglued at the seams. And what we want to do more of is drink that coffee and natter! A ritual I can do solely alone or with many (drink coffee not natter) I'm not as hardcore as to go a straight up espresso, I go a latte. A latte any day. Full cream thanks.
Not sure if im into the speciality cats dropping roasted beans but then again to be fair I haven’t tried it. (and probably wont any time soon) After a lifetime of visits and sipping my favourite roast, the barrister now draws me pretty pictures with pure coffee love. Australia came 3rd in the world champs !  Will have to ignore the massive line and sometimes incredibly long wait. Don’t forget good coffee takes time. That’s not an excuse that’s true!

From top to toe

Here are a couple of snaps I quickly got after a breakky date with lover this morning in between the rain drops of a couple of my favourite purchases this week:
The first is my real life ballet slippers for me to spin and twirl in that I picked up from a dance store. And the second is the best hat I have ever laid eyes on, all olive green with serious buckle decoration on one side, a vintage gem I picked up from an op shop whilst sourcing some exquisite pieces for the store. I am also wearing the vintage darling highwaisted maxi skirt available here and Frankie Sunshine flashback shirt dress available here which I get soooo much wear out of, watch is Nixon & YSL ring and bag I purchased in Vietnam.
Happy Friday! We are off to a wedding in the rain, although I am sure it will beautiful all the same.

Spoon Me

The glorious spoon. An individual piece as part of a place setting. The cool thing about the word spoon is its multi meaning. When we talk about spoon we don’t particularly wanna talk about cutlery. Right? Spoon goes back to the 15th century. Well the silver spoon. And I guess we can only hope the “other” spoon too.
Put your hands up who wants spoon? (I just put my hand up!)  I think if we followed the rule of spoon we would all live in a happier place :
Simple rules of spoon: If spoon is offered.. Take it !!
If spoon is needed.. Give it!! No questions asked.
Super hero style would be Spoon Girl (or Boy). They would spoon the world.
So big spoon or little spoon whatever your preference we can all agree any spoon is good spoon. Now tell me you don’t wanna spoon? That’s an ordering of Spoon all round peoples.. and if your still not convinced – Try it and see!

Frankie Sunshine Chats to Emily Rose Sorensen

Oh Friday its so good to see you again!
Let me introduce one of my favourites on this sunny Friday afternoon, Emily Rose.
This pretty girlfriend has piercing blue eyes, bright peach hair, a healthy bundle of fun in the soul and a voice that is oh so so sweet! I miss her and our wine dates dearly as she now resides in Byron Bay (bliss!) and is living her dream of writing original music and playing it to the ears of lucky people from all over... watch this space because this girl is going lots and lots of big and wonderful places very soon. Check out some of her amazing music here.

1. What is your musical style?
Melodic Pop Boy love songs sometimes Rock. Is this a genre?

2. favourite musician?
Far too many to choose. Possibly Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age)

3.Career aspirations?
To be recognised as a successful songwriter and to be able to make a living from doing this.../Lady of Leisure on a mansion Yacht (if all else fails)

4. Favourite fashion designer?
I don't have one. Is this a bad thing? Oh, but Miss Lulu clothing is amazing!

5. What is your personal fashion style?
Mainly black, basic, sometimes pretty but sometimes grunge. I have bright hair so colours are usually out of the question, although I love a good red lippy!

6. Favourite place & why?
At the moment Byron Bay. This is where I spent a lot of my childhood and have so many great memories. I now live here and it is even better as an adult! There is something about this place that makes things better. It can often make time stand still, but I love that I feel I have plenty of time to be creative here!

7. Hobbies?
Writing/ recording my music in my bedroom studio and Bikram yoga. I have just recently started this yoga and I am hooked. It kicks my arse every time I do it, but it really does make me feel amazing!

8. What could you not live without?
Red Wine and good friends/family!

9. life motto?
Where there’s a will, there’s a way

10. Tell Frankie Sunshine a Joke
Q.What's blue and white and sits at the bottom of the ocean?
A. A fridge in a denim jacket. (I used to really make me laugh as a kid....)

give me a russh

I absolutely LOVE Abbey McCulloch and  have blogged about her before, but this little collaboration goes that one step further towards beautiful great things. Abbey McCulloch collaborates with Russh magazine for summer! yes fabulous I know. This little collaboration has got me so excited for Summer ( it has finally hit hot here after way too much winter dragging).
Summer is by far my favourite season and here are a few of my favourite things about this wonderous time...mangoes, the beach, easy fuss free dressing, evening swims, relaxedness (not sure if this is a word?!), sunbaking, social occasions galore, secret santas, beach hair, floaty frocks, afternoon drinks, holidays, sunkissed skin, watermelon, grapes, etc etc etc... the list could go on forever.
And out of all these lovely positives there is only one bad thing...mosquitos!
Lover & I have been getting attacked every single night while chasing sleep and multiple times each night, we have become expert mosquito hunters and last night we both caught one each without even having to turn the light on, we were impressed.

Inspired much

Oh how I love this women, image from Jak&Jil. I also love my fabulous friends! One of whom emailed me an all inspiring poem yesterday that I can't help but share written by a man who knows his shit, enjoy:

Born to manifest the glory.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are born to manifest the glory of God within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

- Nelson Mandela
